After purchasing probably 30 or 40 pacifiers for my 2 month ancient son so his babysitter wouldn’t go insane, we found the Gerber soft center rounded pacifier was all he would take – mind you this was the larger older version. Then Gerber robotically ‘revamped’ the soft center to what it is today. The customer service rep said that ‘Gerber didn’t reckon babies would notice the change’ – well, he did. He sucked on the same two pacifiers until I found the Natursutten – a year later. Although they are exceedingly more expensive, I bought five and retired the Gerber. My son barely noticed the change, even though the base is a small wider (the part everywhere his lips meet together). Thanks over again. I would recommend this to anyone in the same situation; just try one and see if your small one will take it, it’s worth the ten bucks.

Fantastic hypoallergenic binky!, Development 15, 2010

    Verified Hold(What’s this?)
Like this binky for so many reasons. I hope to outline them here and dispel a few myths some people posted. I wish people wouldn’t post something they don’t know anything (or very small) about. First, these are perfectly safe for babies with a latex allergy. The reason? The process by which the binky is made removes the latex. Check it out yourself. As a mom of three boys with allergies I know how vital it is. My youngest is five months and just a seizure like episode (we reckon do to allergies, all mine have allergies of some sort). It’s nice to know even if it is a latex allergy his binky isn’t contributing.

Secondly, if your binky gets a white reside it’s because it’s water logged. You’ve either boiled it too long or let it sit in water. You can’t let these soak in a soapy water bowl like you would for your bottles. You can’t place them in the dishwasher even on santize. You need to do this the ancient fashioned way. Result in water to a boil in a stainless steel pan. Set timer for two minutes on the stove, drop binky in, and start your timer. Two minutes are up set them on a clean dishtowel. This is what I do. This is what my mom showed me with my first. She also used binkies like this for my baby brother 12ish years ago.

My son LOVES these binkies. I finally have some peace. He’s just a bit cranky in the mornings and evenings before his naps. This really contains him. And, I really could take the older kids out by myself without a cranky baby!! I like these. Wish I would have found them with my first…these are the best binkies I’ve had. I’ve nursed all my boys and find this style to soothe better. While they all took them when they had to it saves me to have my youngest really like to take a binky.

Best pacifier you can buy., July 28, 2009

Jane Like (St. Louis, MO) –

We have five children and we have used pacifiers for all of them (pacifiers at bedtime reduce incidents of SIDS). We’ve used every type, including the basic store bought Nuk or Gerber ones and the silicone ones like they use at hospitals. These are hands-down the best, for several reasons:

    1) I’m not sure if it is the shape or what, but the babies seem to be able to keep these in their mouths better than any other type of pacifier. This is a huge consideration, as pacifiers that are constantly being spit out are a pain.

    2) They are BPA-free and all-natural. This has become more vital to me the more I read about the dangers of BPA and other plastics.

    3) The back of the pacifier is a handy ring that will stay on your finger, so that you aren’t trying to juggle a crying baby and a pacifier at the same time.

    4) No cracks to accumulate dirt.

    5) They just seem to really LOVE these. Our four-month-ancient twins cool right down and take a nap with these, and not with any other brand.

The only downsides are the expense (but they are really worth it) and the fact that they are rubber, so they bounce and can bounce away (like under the pew three rows up at church)!
