We got this as a gift from a family tree supporter and it turned out to be an essential household item.

Our baby girl, Victoria, unquestionably likes it. Next week, she’ll be 4 months ancient, so she’s only just starting to show interest in the toys and moving parts, but she’s been using it for about a month now and she just likes bouncing around in it.

We haven’t experienced any problems with it so far. She’s bouncing around quite a lot, but she’s still relatively small (14 pounds and 25 inches long), and the saucer seems sturdy enough to support her weight at this point. No broken springs or falling apart toys thus far.

There are two interactive elements that she seems to favor most. She just LOVES smacking the elephant and making it *scream* (It makes elephant signal when touched or went around), and she really likes staring at the small green leaf mirror. There’s another constituent that is very fun and interactive (3 different melodies and flashing lights), but she hasn’t been able to turn the small pages that set off the music yet.

Victoria started using her ExcerSaucer at about 3 months ancient, but keep in mind that she’s a pretty strong baby. At 3 months ancient, she was already able to fully support her head and lift her upper body while lying on her belly.I strongly recommend you wait until your child gains full control of her neck and head. And even then, the seat might prove to huge and spacious for your baby to make her/him comfortable, so I suggest using a blanket as an extra padding. We still wrap her up in a sort of a blanky-belt when she’s in her ExcerSaucer, which ensures she’s more stable and comfy.

Overall, this is a fantastic toy. And not only for the baby, but for any stay-at-home mom, too, in that it’ll give you 15-30 minutes of hand-free time to do dishes, tidy up the apartment, or austerely sit down and have a cup of coffee.

Thrilled at first, finished up very disappointed in construction, October 11, 2012

We bought this for our daughter and she started using it around 4 months. Let me first list the pros before getting to the problems we’ve had. It was super simple for me to set up by myself, it is adjustable so she started using it ahead of schedule while I was able to get other things done, it’s a jumperoo and activity center which is fantastic and is simple to clean. For the first two months we thought this was the best product ever! Then when our daughter was about 6 months and switched up to the middle adjustment one of the springs broke leaving it lopsided. We contacted the company and they were really fantastic with sending us a replacement part (although it took 3 weeks and was sitting broken and unused for that time). But, about a week after installing the new part a different spring broke! I don’t mean that the spring unhooked or something, the spring really snapped and broke apart. Evenflo was willing to send us another replacement part but at this point I’m not completely comfortable with using it so we have returned it.

I wish I could recommend it to other parents but I can’t after the experience we’ve had. This may be the exception and not the rule but it’s very disappointing. I still reckon it’s a fantastic activity center though! I will just add that this happened in the span of less than 4 months and she was about 22lbs when the second spring broke which is way under the maximum weight restriction.

    not impressed, December 8, 2011

    Verified Hold(What’s this?)
I recently bought this exersaucer for my 6 month ancient boy (who is huge for his age: 21 pounds, 30 inches). Although it is super cute and not as cluttered or overstimulating as other exersaucers I’ve seen, I’m overall not impressed with it for 4 reasons:

    1. My very large baby can’t reach the floor even on the buck setting, so we have to keep a folded-up towel under his feet so that he’s not just hanging there.

    2. After only a few days, he managed to chew some of the paint off of the dragonfly’s face. This concerned me enough to remove the dragonfly completely from the item, which is sad because he really liked that part.

    3. As far as he knows, this thing does not bounce. The springs are so stiff that it takes a lot of force from me to make a bouncing motion. I guess I must be grateful that he can’t bounce it himself because it makes way too much noise—a delightful crashing plastic noise.

    4. There is one house on the toy tray that does not have a toy. I did not know this because in the picture, the empty house is hiding behind the bee’s head. But, be warned that it will seem to be missing a toy when you are assembling it. Maybe there are extra attachments that you can buy??

I’m considering returning it….the only reason I haven’t yet is because baby boy likes hitting the frog on the head for the signal effects.

EDIT: Shortly after posting this assess, I found more paint chipped off of a different toy (the eggshell/bird toy), and therefore I have chose to return the item. It’s a bring shame on…it had a lot of potential to be excellent, but the thought of my baby eating paint chips is a deal-breaker for me.
